A sigh of relief to Android users, as Truecaller, rolls out a spam activity indicator. The indicator will help android smartphone users to avoid pesky spam numbers. Truecaller has once again come to the rescue of its Android fans. This time around, Truecaller has launched a new feature known as the Spam Activity Indicator. The feature is meant to make communication safer and more efficient for droid users.
Android users can now access accurate information about the spammer on their phones using the new feature of the App.
You can now easily view the details of the caller by taping the caller’s profile photo. The feature will enable android users to see the statistics of the caller, the caller ID, or the full-screen caller ID if it is enabled. This will allow you to decide before you received a call.
Additionally, the feature auto-generates three significant reports i.e.
- Spam report
- Call frequency/activity and
- Peak calling time.
The Spam reports provide details like the number of times a Truecaller user has reported a particular number as spam. The new feature goes further to show whether the amount of spam reports has increased or decreased over time.
The call frequency/activity report indicates the number of calls made recently by a particular number. This helps users to determine how much a spammer a specific number is.
The peak Calling Hours report will present a chart that shows the time when the spammer is most active.
According to reports from Truecaller, over 29.7 billion spam calls and 8.5 billion spam SMS were found for users in India in 2019 only. These reports, free number search, and spammer statistics are available on Truecaller’s official Website.
The update provides power to consumers and allows users to protect themselves more effectively from scammers and fraudsters who are on the rise lately.
Truecaller’s Chief Product Officer, Mr. Rishit Jhunjhunwala, indicated that India is among the fastest-growing markets for smartphones; making it a target for fraudsters. The fraudsters will often flood users phones with unwanted calls and spammy messages.
He added that “The new feature highlights three key trends: Spam reports, calling activities and the peak calling times. Which are the three most important indicators that can be leveraged on to make your communication safer and more efficient.”
